The Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea City Learning Centre once again collaborated with the LGfL to offer two half-day videoconferences entitled ‘HistoryLive’

TUESDAY JUNE 27 for Primary Schools

THURSDAY JUNE 29 for Secondary Schools

Each event followed the usual format of a number of short presentations with time for dialogue between all the participating schools. The aim was for a mixture of presentations from schools that are doing exciting work independently and from schools that are collaborating with museums.

Another major aim was to demonstrate the flexibility and creativity that videoconferencing can bring to the classroom, especially with the advent of LVCNet. Several museums have indicated their interest in broadening the scope of their work with schools via the medium and we look forward to hearing their ideas during the conferences.

As well as making a direct contribution, schools were invited to watch the conferences and add their comments and questions. This could be done either by joining the conference directly or by watching the live videostream that was provided.

Teachers who are interested in joining future conferences at any level should contact Roger Bloxham via mailto://roger.bloxham@heartoflondon.org or on 07967 347735.
